Privacy notice
Who is responsible?
Marco Peters, Danziger Str. 13a, 21465 Wentorf bei Hamburg, Germany. For privacy enquiries, email marco@eomp.info.
A small website, with a small data footprint
This website includes no analytics, advertising, tracking pixels, embedded social feeds or contact forms. Images, styles and scripts are served with the website. It uses system fonts, so no requests to external font services are needed.
Hosting on GitHub Pages
This website is prepared for hosting on GitHub Pages. GitHub records visitors’ IP addresses for security purposes, including visits by people without a GitHub account. Technical request information may also be processed to deliver and protect the service.
The purpose is reliable and secure delivery of this website, based on legitimate interests under Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. GitHub’s processing, retention and international transfer arrangements are described in its Privacy Statement (opens in a new tab). See also GitHub Pages data collection (opens in a new tab). The website owner does not receive visitor-level analytics from this website.
Your colour theme
If you switch between light and dark mode, the website stores only your selection under eomp-theme in your browser’s local storage. This preference is not sent to the website owner. It remains until you change it or clear the website’s browser data. Without a saved choice, the site follows your device’s colour setting.
If you get in touch
Email links open your own email application. If you send a message, your address, message and any details you provide are used to handle your enquiry. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(b) GDPR for enquiries relating to a potential contract, or Article 6(1)(f) GDPR for other professional correspondence. Messages are retained for as long as needed to deal with the enquiry and any applicable statutory retention obligations.
External links
LinkedIn, Bluesky, Mastodon and other linked websites receive data when you follow a link. Their own privacy notices then apply. Social profiles are ordinary links, with no embedded widgets.
Your rights
Subject to the applicable legal conditions, you can request access, correction, deletion, restriction of processing and data portability. You can object to processing based on legitimate interests. You can also lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, in particular in the EU country where you live or work.
For enquiries about processing by Marco Peters, use the contact details above. For processing by GitHub, its Privacy Statement provides contact and rights information.
